Regie en scenario: Chris Weitz With: Dakota Blue Richards, Nicole Kidman, Daniel Craig (Lord Asriel), Sam Elliot e.a. (rather a short longplayfilm) 113 min. / USA / 2007  <  click on the title-image for the trailer

A lot of strange creatures (?)  like the vehicle or travelballoon? not stranger than other artwork? Da Vinci?

clichematic action: bears fight, heroic fight at the end: the bad "indians" are Tartares, russian speaking people

Bulleshyte of silly names Norroway instead of Norway, gyptians instead of gipsies

kids as mainactors, Dakota Blue Richards   A shitload of common-gateway-interface (CGI) to make the distance smaller between film and games? Or are the special effects superior to any previous movie (Lord of the Rings, The Chronicles of Narnia).

Cities look like Boston and London with small  changings (in little details)

Casting of believable characters constant dialogue OR incredible characters and loose scenes?

No humor, no jokes, deathly serious. For instance the actors don’t know which character to play, which emotions to use. Nicole Kidman (miss Coulter) is to serious, a bitch, and icecold all the time?

An easy to be continued story without a real statement except the (hidden) attack (?) against the christian (the magisterium) and this even isn't so explicit, metafysical as the direct attack on Christianity and God in the books.

The movie is based in a story that is captivating, excellent sophisticated, truly interesting and very well told ?
